Dr. Victor L. Lewis is a graduate of Yale University (1964) and Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine (1968). He completed his residency at Charity Hospital of Louisiana, Louisiana State University Service (1969-1973). Dr. Lewis then served in the U.S. Navy from 1973-1975 and on Ready Reserve from 1975-1993. Dr. Lewis is a triple board-certified physician, with official recognition from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, American Board of Surgery, and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Over the years, Dr. Lewis has been an international volunteer for Hearts in Motion in Cilapa, Guatemala, and Amman, Jordan, as well as for Healing the Children in Honduras. He has served as the Chief of Staff for the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (1985-1987), where he is currently an active consultant. In addition to his work as a cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Lewis has participated in a number of societies and committees with active leadership roles. These include:
Since 1993, Dr. Lewis has been a consultant for the Illinois State Medical Society Physician Review Committee, and in 2000 he was a finalist for the Robert Winter Award for Outstanding Clinical Teaching. Dr. Lewis maintains an active role at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and Feinberg School of Medicine as an attending plastic surgeon, as well as a Professor of Clinical Surgery.
